YondeMite explores a more engaging language-learning experience: read a story you care about, then reveal the language help you need without losing your place. The native phone and tablet prototype connects manga discovery, reading and contextual learning. Private beta; still in progress.

Start with wanting to keep reading
The product starts with wanting to read the next scene. Storytelling gives the learning a reason to happen. The current authored example, One More Spoon, happens to be a cooking story; it is one content example, not the scope of the product. AI helps me develop the content and software; the reading experience still needs deliberate storytelling, lettering, and interaction design.
Help without losing the story
The working reader combines continuous manga scrolling with optional furigana and contextual reading help. Readers can reveal a meaning, explore a word, and save language from the scene. Japanese dialogue adaptations and reading support are separate choices, so assistance can fit the reader without replacing the story.
A working private beta
The device frames contain complete, unaltered native prototype screens from the local phone and tablet Simulator review: Home and bilingual reading help for The Box by the Door. The frames are presentation only. The product, language editions, and learning content are still being refined; translations and Japanese typography remain editorial drafts.
