Avoid poor soft skills
It is easy to mistake someone with confidence as possessing excellent soft skills. They might impress us above other job candidates who seem less confident and quiet during an interview process.
However, we cannot forget why we are hiring someone in the first place: to help our team succeed as a group.
We must ask ourselves how candidates’ soft skills would affect our team in a day-to-day operation as opposed to the best impression they craft during a short interview.
